You can create multiple Projects and within projects are jobs. If you already use Pearl, you may be familiar with events; jobs have a similar interface to events within the Pearl system. Jobs can be set as daughters of other jobs for creating inter-dependent activities.
Events in Pearl are used for a number of purposes in addition to project jobs. This means that you can seamlessly change a helpdesk ticket into a job for example, or merge items from a personal task list (to do list) into a newly created project.
Each project requires a Project Manager, a team of additional contacts is optional. You can add further people to a project or job so that they receive notifications and get involved with the online project collaboration.
Pearl will allow you to set one or more clients for a project if you require so that multiple staff members in your client’s company can follow project progress, or perhaps you want to invoice to a number of different clients in one project. See later in this pack for more detail.
Each member of the project can be set with different permissions.
Once you have set up jobs within a project, you can add time to a job. Pearl has an inbuilt timer that your project team can use to report how long they take to complete jobs assigned to them.
The jobs within a project are viewable on a Gantt chart (timeline) or a drag-and-drop web based calendar.
Notes can be added to the project itself, or to jobs within a project. Notes can be private (staff only) or public (viewable by the client on your Pearl project portal). With the appropriate permissions, your client can add notes using this online portal.
Files can be uploaded to job notes or project notes. If the note has been set to “public” then the file will also be available for the project members to download/view online using your project web portal.
The project web portal is an area within your Pearl driven website that is used for collaboration. The portal design and branding is totally configurable since it is part of the larger Pearl website system.
